I lost my son, CPL Brandon W Smitherman in Mosul, Iraq on 10/31/07. I have only been living up here since March–born & raised in Texas all my life–but have managed to get help from the American Legion Post #332 to have the RUN FOR THE FALLEN in Elk Horn next weekend. I am doing this event to help keep my son’s memory alive and also honor all the great soldiers we have lost. The American Legion is having a Walk/Run-a-Thon to raise money for the Veterans War Memorial being built in Elk Horn!! Thanks again for your support!!

I made it safely home tonight after three hard days of riding in high heat and humidity, all of which gave me a new appreciation for the physical hardships you are putting yourself through for our loved ones and lost ones. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for what you are doing. My son & daughter were thrilled to find their Uncle Daniel’s flag you placed in Colorado, and I’m really glad they met you too.
